The German occupation of Zara is one of the most exciting collections in the field; the crisp, clearly printed typographic overprint gives rise to a number of very interesting and highly sought-after varieties. There are IV types of overprint for Regular Mail + the V type for War Propaganda, well described in the Sassone catalog. It was possible to accurately compile the sheet-position statistics for all varieties and combinations thanks to the examination of complete sheets of most values.
The second issue contains many fewer varieties and is therefore usually collected only as the "type" set.
We know these overprints very well, as we have complete sheets of the less rare values; therefore we guarantee that they are ALL absolutely original and, upon request, we issue the SPC s.a.s. photographic certificate if it is not already present.
